Step 1 - Assuming you have already downloaded and installed Cute FTP, you need to open the application. You may be presented with a box if you are using the trial version. Just press start trial and you will be presented with the following screen.
Step 2Located in the bottom left hand corner is a button "New". Click on it.
Step 3You will then need to enter the following details:
Label for Site: It is not necessary to label your site although its always a good idea especially if you work with multiple accounts.
FTP Host Address: This detail is necessary and is the address to your FTP server. This address must be either the IP address (e.g.. 210.55.34.23) or ftp.your domain.com.au. For example if my domain was computers.com, my FTP host address would be ftp.computers.com.
FTP site User Name: The username supplied to you by your systems administrator.
FTP site Password: The password supplied to you by you system administrator.
Once you have entered all of these details, click "Connect". If all the details are correct, then the connection should be made. If not, then review all of your settings and make sure that the username and password is valid. If you still have problems and have a firewall installed, disable it and then try to connect. If it connects then the firewall was preventing it and may need to be configured properly.
To use Cute FTP, all you need to do is drag and drop the files you want uploaded from the left side of the screen, which are your files, and the right side, which is the FTP server.
